Privacy
Policy.
How we collect, use and protect your personal data — and the rights you have under UK data protection law.
Last updated: 5 September 2026.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Dikanska Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for the personal data collected through this website. Registered in England and Wales, company number 17173337, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. For any data question, contact us at info@altaielements.com.
2. What we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect: your name, email address and delivery address; your order details; communications you send us through the contact form; and, if we ever switch on analytics, technical/usage data such as pages visited. We do not currently use analytics of any kind — no analytics cookie is set and no usage data is collected. Payment card details are handled directly by our payment provider — we never see or store them.
3. How and why we use it
We use your data to process and deliver your orders, to respond to your enquiries, to keep records we are legally required to keep, and, if we introduce analytics, to understand and improve the site. We do not send marketing newsletters. We do send two one-off emails about an order you started with us: if your payment does not complete we send one reminder that your basket is still there, and about two weeks after your parcel is dispatched we send one invitation to review the product. Both are sent once only, and each carries a single line telling you how to stop them. Our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (orders), our legitimate interests (running and improving the business), your consent (analytics cookies and marketing), and legal obligation (e.g. tax records).
4. Who we share it with
We share data only with providers who help us run the business: SumUp (payment processing), our delivery and courier partners (to ship your order), and our email and hosting providers. We use no analytics provider. Your browser also loads this site’s typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. We do not sell your personal data. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies to make the site work, and — with your consent — analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. We do not currently set any non-essential cookie, so there is no banner and nothing to accept or reject — the “Cookie settings” link in the footer will tell you the same. If we introduce analytics we will ask for your consent through a banner first, and update this notice before we do.
6. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above, including to meet legal, accounting or reporting requirements. Order records are retained for up to seven years from the date of payment. That covers the six years from the end of the accounting period that HMRC requires company records to be kept, with a margin, because the automatic clean-up cannot know when your order’s accounting period ended. At that point the name, address, phone number and email address are removed automatically and permanently; the reference, dates, items and totals are kept, because those are the accounting record. If you start an order and never pay for it, we delete your details after 30 days.
Reviews
If you leave a review we store the name you choose to display, the full name on your order, your email address, any photographs or video you upload, and a one-way hash of your IP address used only to limit abuse. Your display name, your words and any photographs or video you send are published on this website once approved, and stay published until you ask us to remove them. The full name, the email address and the hash are never published — they exist so we can confirm the review came from a real order. Write to info@altaielements.com at any time and we will take a review down.
Fonts
The typefaces on this site are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google and Google therefore receives your IP address. No cookie is set by this and no analytics are involved. We intend to serve the fonts from our own server so that request stops happening.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email us at info@altaielements.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.
8. Contact
Any questions about this policy or your data? Write to info@altaielements.com or use our Contact page.
